Stephen Savignano

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Ketera

Steve Savignano is founder and chief executive officer of Ketera Technologies and has served as chairman of the Board of Directors since 2002. He has overall responsibility for the company's strategy, organization and operations. Prior to Ketera, Savignano served as senior vice president of AOL where he was responsible for iPlanet, AOL's partnership with Sun Microsystems. Savignano founded and served as senior vice president and general manager for the Application Products Division of Netscape Communications. As a member of the senior management team there, Savignano was responsible for Netscape's e-commerce applications for commerce exchange, customer relationship management, internet procurement and online selling. Prior to the acquisition of Netscape by AOL, he grew the business to $50 million in under 18 months. Before joining Netscape, Savignano headed the product development organization for Manugistics, Inc. where he was responsible for managing and overseeing the company's industry-leading Supply Chain Management solution. Savignano holds an MBA from Northeastern University, an MS in Computer Science, and a BS in Civil Engineering.

Ted Schlein

General Partner, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers

Ted joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in November 1996. His focus has been in the area of enterprise security and applications, infrastructure and services. Ted managed the KPCB Java Fund, formed to invest in Java technology-based companies and related Internet, Intranet, networking and communications companies. He serves on the board of ArcSight, Corio, Evant, Fortify, Ketera, IronPlanet, Linuxcare, and oversees the company′s interests in Internet Security Systems and New Vine Logistics.

Ted came to KPCB with significant experience in enterprise software business management at Symantec Corporation. As Vice President of Networking and Client Server Technology, he was responsible for overseeing the marketing and development of enterprise products. Prior to that he served as VP of Symantec′s European business development and as VP Data Management Group. Mr. Schlein is credited with establishing Symantec in both the utilities and antivirus markets by starting and building these business units. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Paul Holland

General Partner, Foundation Capital

Paul brings with him the veteran knowledge of working with and aiding technology start-ups in their earliest stages. His primary focus has been the development and acceleration of enterprise software companies. He has a compelling professional profile that is highlighted by his role in taking two venture-funded software start-ups, Kana Communications (KANA), and Pure Software (RATL), public.

Prior to becoming a general partner at Foundation Capital, Paul was senior vice president of worldwide sales at Kana Communications, joining them in 1997 as their 15th team member and increasing their sales over 5000% in just three years. At Kana, a leading supplier of Enterprise Relationship Management solutions to strategic e-businesses, Paul went on to build a team of over 350 people that secured more than 900 customers worldwide, and with Paul′s help they were listed among the top ten IPOs of 1999. Before Kana, Paul helped grow revenues for another highly successful start-up, Pure Software, bringing them from a market value of $2 million to over $1 billion in his five year tenure there as vice president and general manager. They had the second most successful IPO of 1995 and were later acquired by Rational Software. He began his professional career at SRI International (formerly the Stanford Research Institute) Paul currently serves on the board of directors for Talking Blocks, manageStar and Ketera.

Gordon Ritter

General Partner, Emergence Capital Partners

Gordon Ritter is a Founder and General Partner of Emergence. He has spent over 15 years building companies which pioneered new markets including embedded web-based interfaces, server appliances, "On Demand" services for the SMB market and web-native application development. He led Emergence Capital′s first investment, in the On Demand leader Salesforce.com.

Prior to founding Emergence, Gordon was co-Founder and CEO of Software As Service, a Web services platform company he created with Marc Benioff, the Chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com. Software As Service is the origin of Salesforce.com′s AppForce/AppExchange. Prior to forming Software As Service, he was Vice President of the $3 billion IBM Global Small Business division, created as a result of IBM′s acquisition of his company, Whistle Communications in 1999. Gordon′s division was responsible for partnerships with dozens of technology-enabled service companies as part of IBM′s On Demand computing strategy. He led IBM′s launch partnership with Salesforce.com. Prior to IBM, Gordon was co-Founder and President of Whistle, a pioneering Internet appliance and services platform for small and medium-sized businesses.

Before Whistle, Gordon was co-Founder and President of Tribe Communications, a networking infrastructure company. Tribe pioneered WebManage™, acclaimed as the first HTML-based network management software. Tribe was acquired by Zoom Telephonics (ZOOM) in 1996. Prior to Tribe, Gordon was a VP of Capital Markets at CSFB in New York, where he headed the Collateralized Mortgage Obligation (CMO) group. Gordon has a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University.

Gordon is married and has three young children, including a set of twins. He is a Trustee of the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Gordon rowed on the heavyweight crew at Princeton and has continued rowing in the Bay Area. He also enjoys running, open-water swimming and cross-country skiing.
